Arai Corsair-X Hayden Laguna Unisex-Adult Street Motorcycle Helmet

The Arai Corsair-X Helmet has taken helmet technology and rider protection to the next level by engineering a helmet that not only guards against direct impacts, but is specifically designed to minimize the forces of "glancing off" impacts as well. In true Arai fashion, the company has created a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy rather than absorb it, thereby decreasing the amount of force transferred to the body.

To increase the helmet's potential to glance off impact energy, the VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod and pivot cover are smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell. The helmet is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, assembled and bonded by Arai experts. The specially-developed resin used in the construction creates stronger bonds between the shell materials, while reducing overall weight. The shell itself has superb tensile strength, thanks to a variety of carefully-positioned materials and the use of lightweight resin.

Approved by DOT and meeting FMVSS 218 standards, the Corsair-X Helmet features the exclusive VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods. The variable axis (moving pivot point) allows the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets, without compromising the shield's ability to open and close. A dual-function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield for quick and simple removal, while securely capturing and holding the face shield closed. The larger latch design ensures intuitive and seamless operation.

The VAS MAX Vision shield is standard, providing better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding. It comes equipped with a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert. Normally, the shield mounting position must remain relatively high, as a lower shield pivot would not allow the shield to open or close properly. However, the VAS (Variable Axis System)'s variable axis (moving pivot point) enables shield opening and closing even with the lower shield position.
